WELCOME to our Military Outreach Ministry website. We are located in Smithville, Texas...a small rural town about an hour's drive southeast of Austin, Texas. We began our ministry in November of 2008 at the Smithville First Baptist Church. Our mission was, and still is, to reach out to veterans and active duty men and women serving in the Armed Forces. We believe that this nation's sons and daughters deserve to be appreciated...to know that the people of the United States are proud of them...and to know they are loved. Our mission statement is simple, but sincere, "Reach Out in Christ's Love".

We have a wall filled with pictures of those serving in the Army/National Guard, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps., and Coast Guard...and we have a wall for "Fallen Heroes". Our church is filled with patriotic pride, and is blessed to have veterans from all branches of the U. S. Armed Forces. We do not impose ourselves on these American Heroes...we just reach out in the form of prayers, greeting cards, and care packages.

We are so fortunate to be located in a town that cares, and one that is eager to "get involved". Junior High School art students make cards for us to enclose in the Holiday Care Boxes...and the church GA's are making little bead bracelets to be distributed by the military men and women to the children of Iraq and Afghanistan. The church family donates used cell phones that will purchase "calling cards" for the men and women in the war zones. They also donate large quantities of snack foods and homemade cookies to fill the care boxes so lovingly packaged. They have always risen to meet the needs of this ministry, and they enjoy expressing their support for our troops.
